Yowhick 4k Projector
- High-Performance Pick ~$299.99
Kodak Luma 150
- Honorable Mention ~$219.99
Why did we pick these?
We picked each of these for a variety of reasons, and which projector is right for you mostly depends on your own needs. Like most things what will work for some may not work for others. So, let’s dive into each projector and discuss their strengths & weaknesses.
1. The Roconia Projector – Balanced Projecting for All!
Our number one pick is the Roconia Projector. It’s our top pick because it will fill the needs of most people pretty well and it does that without completely destroying our $300 budget. You can pick this up off Amazon for about $200, but there is usually a special coupon offer that will cut $60 off the price tag. You just have to make sure you click the checkbox before you add it to your cart. (See photo)
In addition to the awesome price tag, you really can’t go wrong with this projector. It comes with a projector screen in the box, so you save yourself some money there. It projects a very bright HD picture which is fine for most people. (Keep in mind you’re only spending $140. It’s not ULTRA High definition. ) What’s more is that it supports a ton of input methods, Standard HDMI ( It comes with an HDMI cable), and Bluetooth so you can connect a speaker easily.
Also, If you have WiFi nearby you can even “cast” directly from your phone or tablet. It’s plug-and-play and comes with a remote, I really can’t see anybody purchasing this for around $200 and not being happy with their purchase. This is the pinnacle of a balanced projector that does what you want it to without breaking the bank. Check it out on amazon here.
2. AuKing’s Mini Projector – The Ultimate Budget Pick
While researching for this pick I didn’t even realize you’d be able to get something that works for under $100. So, when I ordered this thing I was expecting to get something that looked like it came out of a cereal box. However, AuKing was just standing by ready to surprise me! Because It’s actually a really solid projector for $80 bucks! Obviously, this projector is under 300. So, it’s a no-brainer that it would make it onto our best projectors under 300 list. But, how does it compare to the others on this list? Is it 100-plus dollars worse than the others on this list? Kinda. But, hear me out!
If you don’t plan to use this every day, maybe you’re hosting a one-time projector-themed backyard party, I don’t think your guests are going to be absolutely heartbroken by the quality. If that is the case I think it might be worth it to save the money. This little guy is about half as bright as the next cheapest one on our list, but if you get the room dark enough it definitely pulls off a watchable experience. I definitely recommend it if you’re on a tight budget! You can check it out on Amazon here.
3. Yowhick 4k Projecter – Performance & Quality!
At the time of writing this post, the Yowhick 4k Projector is $299.99 on Amazon. So, it barely squeaks onto our projectors under 300 list. However, just like our balanced pick there is sometimes a Coupon deal that takes off a few bucks, so be sure to be on the lookout for that coupon check box.
Nevertheless, it being right at the top of the budget, this thing is worth it! It spits out an unquestionably crystal-clear image. The focus is crisp even if you blow the screen size up huge. The image quality is also great even in a lightly illuminated room, but if you can get it real dark it’s near movie theater level quality. If you can stomach the price I highly recommend this pick. This is as good as it gets at this price point. I imagine you’d have to pay significantly more to notice any improvements past this model. You can check it out on amazon here.
4. Kodak Luma 150 -Honorable Mention
Did you know Kodak still exists? I didn’t. So, I was intrigued when I saw a projector with the Kodak brand in my research. It also looked really unique. So, without reservation, I decided to try it out.
Firstly, I wanna say that the projector itself is super cool looking. It’s even smaller than the AuKing’s “Mini” projector. Plus, it looks like something out of a spy movie. It’s also refreshing to see a brand name that doesn’t look like they came up with it by smashing their hand down on the keyboard. (I’m looking at you YOWHICK)
Secondly, It actually performs really well! Without reservation, I can say that if you value portability just as much as image quality this would be my pick. In this case, I’d rate the image quality to be about 20% worse than our balanced pick. But again, I gave it an honorable mention mostly because it’s neat and well-designed. So, if you want to check it out on amazon you can find it here.
In conclusion, My top pick is still going to be the Roconia Projector. Nevertheless, I hope this post provided the information you needed to make an informed decision and find the device that best serves your needs!
